On Saturday, May 31st, 2025, the spirit of community and tradition shone brightly at Teignmouth Rugby Club’s 150th Anniversary Gala Ball. Sponsored in part by JH Way Funeral Service, the event welcomed 220 members and guests into a stunningly dressed marquee — the result of months of careful planning and a tireless setup led by Senior Funeral Director and long-time supporter, Caz Denning.
Over three days, Caz and a dedicated team of volunteers transformed the space into a magical setting. From unloading and adorning 220 chairs to arranging 22 elegantly laid tables beneath handmade chandeliers and hung lanterns, every detail told a story of love, pride, and community.
As guests arrived, the celebrations came alive. The evening was filled with heartfelt speeches, meaningful awards, and toasts to a club that has brought generations together. Caz reflected on the club’s impact, saying:
“It has always been an honour to be part of the rugby club. It has such a community feel and is thriving with an abundance of teams — boys, girls, men, and ladies — spanning all ages from as young as 5.”
A century and a half of camaraderie, athletic excellence, and local pride culminated in a night to remember — and JH Way was honoured to play a part.
