An evening of love and carols

The team at JH Way Dawlish and Teignmouth held an evening of love and carols at St. James’ Church, Teignmouth on 17th December for families to remember loved ones this Christmas.

Funeral Arranger Linsie Kemp said: “This service was an opportunity to let our families know that we are always here for them, that our services do not stop with the funeral. Our doors are always open, and the kettle is always on.

If they didn’t get a chance to place a remembrance card on our trees in our offices, then this is their chance to take a tag from the back of the church and either bring into our funeral homes, or pass to Caz, Demelza or Linsie.”

Some of our celebrants came along and did readings and many of our families braved the rain and came to remember their loved ones. We had so many lovely comments afterwards as we served tea, coffee, mince pies and apple pies and cream.

The biggest surprise of the night came from Funeral Director Caz Denning who got up and sang the reflection song. Her colleagues had no idea that this was going to happen and were heart warmed by it, as was everyone.
